Doll Face Comparison

I just posted a black & white photo of Kit, Kaya, Josefina and Nellie's face.

The photo is the photo section of yahoo group AGDolls. I can't get a link directly to the photo to work in this post. Please let me know if you can't access it. I think you must sign to yahoo groups but I'm not sure.

Someone took the great photo of Kaya with Josefina but I don't know who! [img]graemlins/cry.gif[/img] [img]redface.gif[/img] If you took that photo, please let me know so I can give you credit!! I don't have any clear pics of Kaya and Josefina and your photo was perfect to compare the doll faces. Thank you kindly and please let me know if it's your photo.

Ok, I just added the photo to my website also in case the other pic doesn't work.

It's under "New Girl". My AGT Laura isn't new anymore so I'll have to change those photo captions. Now the New Girl will be Nellie! [img]wink.gif[/img]

Julia, thanks for sharing that picture! It's so pretty in black and white, and easy to see the differences in the dolls' faces.

Thanks for sharing the photo comparison! I still think Nellie and Josefina look like they have the same sculpt from these photos. Another similarity I noticed but forgot to post is the part between their nose and upper lip. (The caucasian dolls do not have a well-defined philtrum, but Josefina's and Nellie's look similar.) I think it's wonderful, though, that they've decided to create a caucasian doll with a different sculpt! After all, all little girls look different and it helps celebrate that fact to have Samantha and Nellie not look the same as each other.

Thanks for posting the pictures [img]smile.gif[/img] I agree, the nose, eyes, and lips do look like Josefina's. It is hard to tell about the face shape since Nellie's hair makes her face look bigger than it probably really is.

Thanks for the pictures! I have never seen Josephina close up, so this helped me see some of the similarities. I feel like a kid at Christmas, I am so excited about this doll!

How many face molds actually are there?
Has anyone ever taken profile shots or made a list. It would be interesting to ask AG about this

I definitely think that the face mold for Nellie is different than the one for Felicity, Kirsten, Samantha, Kit, and Molly. I think that it is probably closest to Josefina's--including the frenulum, the lips, the nose not being as turned up as on the others, the bridge of the nose being more defined, the eyes being closer together, a pointier chin, and less broad bottom jaw. Some things that I'm not quite sure about is that the teeth seem to look a little smaller on Nellie, and I'm not quite sure if the chin is as pointy and the jaw as narrow as Josefina's is--I'll have to reserve judgement until I see them in person, side-by-side.

AG has five face sculpts: their standard caucasian one (the first one used), the ethnic one (Addy's face), Josefina's (and now Nellie's), Kaya's, and the Asian one.
